Stuart Morgan
has been refocusing on
his photography business,
Morgan Photography LLC,
and more since retiring in 2023.
He used his photography skills
as editor of an
award-winning magazine
from 1991 to 2023, launching this business on
the side midway through
his career. Stuart was
inspired to do so by his
beloved daughter,
Caroline, a fellow
photographer and loyal
companion. She
loved sunrises and
sunsets, and appreciated
the beauty of Carolinas from the Lowcountry to
the mountains.
Honestly, perhaps
more than anything else,
this website is a
tribute to her.
At its peak of operation from 2005 to 2008, Morgan Photography's
customers included
authors, banks,
hospitals, law firms,
engineering companies,
advertising agencies,
associations and
restaurants. Stuart
received orders from as
far away as New York,
Ohio and California, and
photo
assignments from as far
away as England and New
Mexico.
Stuart continues to
focus on landscapes,
especially in South
Carolina, and usually
posts his photos on this
website and/or
www.Nikonians.org.
He volunteers to support nonprofits in Columbia and
especially Charleston,
including the USO,
Castle Pinckney
Historical Preservation
Society and Market Hall
Museum. He also
serves as a board member
of Fort Sumter Civil War
Round Table, sponsored
by The Citadel's History
Department.
"Blind squirrels catch a nut every now and then," and
so does Stuart. He
pursued a career in
maritime history and
underwater archaeology
before switching careers
many years ago, but he
still has a passion for
history and archaeology.
So he occasionally
freelances as a
photographer for Osprey
Publishing (2016), American Archaeology
(2025)
and Military Antique
Collector Magazine
(2026).
Stuart uses the
best professional labs
to produce quality
prints on practically
any surface (including
E-surface or metallic
paper, and fine art
paper and fine art
canvas) and 1/4", 3/4", 1 1/2" and
2" canvas wrapss.
